Astoria was in need of a great Vietnamese restaurant. Luckily, father and son, Lam and Michael Lien, have filled the void, delivering dishes so tasty you'll think you have transported to southeast Asia. Most of their recipes and techniques are highly-guarded family secrets, handed down from their grandmothers. The pho is especially memorable, made with a bone broth that simmers on a low heat for several hours to achieve maximum aroma and flavor.
