Chef Dave Beran, known for creating otherworldly tasting menus at Dialogue, has brought a slice of contemporary Paris to Santa Monica with his sophomore concept. Pasjoli is top-to-bottom gorgeous with rich fabrics and textures, high ceilings, and a vintage feel. It fits the menu, rooted in French classics with California sensibility. You can’t go wrong with caviar served tableside with brown-butter potato chips and crème fraiche, rack of lamb with roasted grapes, pressed duck, and traditional baba au rhum. It’s live-it-up dining disguised as a neighborhood haunt.
