Celebrating the sweet life of its namesake micro-neighborhood, Sugar Hill Creamery is a newcomer to an up-and-coming Harlem dining scene. Opened by a husband-and-wife team in summer 2017, the shop boasts a bright, airy, vintage-inspired storefront on Lenox Avenue and serves up delicious, small-batch, artisanal ice cream. While you’ll almost always find a classic scoop of vanilla bean or a creamy dark chocolate sorbet for the kids, don’t be afraid to broaden your own taste horizons with one of the seasonal offerings. Think: spicy jalapeño and roasted corn or a holly berry Christmas concoction of a cream cheese–based custard laced with graham crackers and red currant jam.
